Ms. Angela Howze Pitts has over eight years experience in Information Technology initiatives and six years managing IT projects. Ms. Pitts skill sets include expertise in web content management, social media, information architecture, strategic communications, technical writing, training, online instructional planning and design. Ms. Pitts has performed duties as a project manager, IT/web manager, a web content manager, systems librarian for the U.S. Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia, and as a taxonomy developer, where she served on a team of faculty and subject matter experts (SMEs) to draft original homeland security taxonomy. Additionally, she is experienced as a developer on AKO/DKO and SharePoint web portal platforms, and served as team leader for the design and implementation of a web-based search and retrieval system for digitized archives material.  In 2011, she was recognized as a ProSol Eagle Award nominee for her success as team lead for the research and development of O-3 level, computer-based training modules for the Marine Corps’ Regional Culture and Language Familiarization (RCLF) program.  Throughout her career she has received numerous awards for her past performance, holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and is a published author; her most recent publication is, "A Taxonomy for the Homeland Security Digital Library"; Montague Institute Review, October, 2005.  She currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two sons.
