Lisa Dawn Colvin is an ontologist and computational linguist with 30 years of experience designing formal knowledge representations for research, regulated industries, and consumer-scale systems. She began her career at Cycorp, working on the CYC commonsense knowledge base under Doug Lenat, and went on to contribute to the NASA Constellation Program's NExIOM information model and the CxDA-NIR standard through TopQuadrant. Her later work spans master metadata management at Genentech, the UDFR Semantic Registry for the Library of Congress, listener identity resolution at Pandora/SiriusXM, and enterprise ontology management at Capital One, where her SPARQL-based test suite significantly lifted ontology policy compliance across data product teams. She is a Women in AI Ethics+ Research Fellow and the founder of Semantic Generation, an independent consultancy based in Oakland, California.
