Valerie McCutcheon has over 18 years’ experience of research information management within a Higher Education Institute. She led developments to the University of Glasgow Research System and fostered linkage of the repository with other core systems. In 2012, she moved to the library to focus on Open Access, Research data management and reporting of research outcomes to funders.

Her work history includes managing information for land and seismic surveys, oil wells, clinical trials, and software houses.

Valerie’s roles include Chair of the Research Excellence Framework Data Collection Steering Group, Champion of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA) Open Access Group Special Interest Group, and past CASRAI UK chair.
