Monica Fulvio is a data governance and metadata leader with over a decade of senior experience in safeguarding valuable data assets through strategic governance, quality management, and compliance implementation. Specializing in data governance frameworks, taxonomy systems, and metadata architecture. She has consistently delivered solutions that enhance operational efficiency while ensuring data integrity.
At The Walt Disney Company, Monica founded and led the first data governance team for the Content Platforms division, establishing crucial programs for schema documentation across multiple systems. Previously, she served as Director of Taxonomy & Metadata at National Geographic, where she designed their inaugural centralized reference data architecture and standardized taxonomy system in over 13 languages, leveraging a blend of linked open data, automation, and expert review.
Monica holds a Master of Science in Library & Information Science from Catholic University of America and is a DAMA Certified Data Management Professional and Product School certified product manager.
