I was an academic for more than 23 years specialised in Artificial Intelligence, Information Retrieval and Information/knowledge management. As the result of my research I won innovation grant to set up a company (I was a reader at London University when I won the innovation grant).  It took us over 8 years to convert our work into a working commercial products- this is quite normal in our area, where most of our competitors are from USA (apart from Autonomy, which is now bought by HP for over $13b) with a support of $10-20m at the start. We have developed an Artificial Intelligence technology for industry, which enables organisation to access, retrieve and process information.

Unlike the existing systems in the market, we are offering a single platform for search, collaboration and information organisation together with other products. As the result of our extensive market research, we are fully aware that our system is desperately needed in industry. We realised that new solutions were necessary when we discovered that the only available systems for addressing the lack of control of knowledge within organisations (those who can afford to buy such systems) were very expensive, ineffective and were based on outdated technology. Furthermore, only the top layer of industry can afford to buy such systems (enterprise search). We have developed an innovative technology that provides an adaptive, tailor-made environment for fast, accurate information retrieval in professional world. It is easy to use (no training required) and, very importantly, cost effective. Now, every organisation, large and small, can achieve effective knowledge management through Purple Frog systems. We have created a system that harness the latest technology to unlock and manage the growing body of knowledge within organisations and enabling the practitioners to find, share and deploy information for all types of task and project development.
